Breaking Boards For Breast Cancer Fundraiser

The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation is having a fundraiser at the Flames of Hope..a Celebration of Life Waterfire in Providence RI October 11th. My karate studio, Mastery Martial Arts, will be hosting a board breaking event. The chief instructors will break 1,000 boards. It is so cool. People can buy a board for $10 and write a positive affirmation on it. Then after all the boards are broken, they will be placed on the fire and all the positive affirmations of love, faith, and healing will be sent off into the universe.
Please help me help this wonderful cause. Go to my fundraising website at

Please help. We all have known someone in our lives where breast cancer has touched theirs. Donate to this worthy cause.
Breast Cancer: Real Questions, Real Answers is an outgrowth of Dr. David Chan s more than 20 years in private oncology practice. Inspired by his patients — who courageously face their illness but often feel fearful, confused about their options, and full of questions — Dr. Chan s book is uniquely structured as a Question and Answer between patient and doctor. It provides readers with an easily navigated, completely current resource for all of their queries. Poised to become the new must-read for breast cancer patients, this book offers easily digestible information by reviewing and exploring the causes of breast cancer, outlining the core basics of breast cancer therapy, explaining how breast cancer survival is influenced by lifestyle, and much more. Dr. Chan s surefooted, compassionate tone offers reassurance throughout, as do the stories of his many patients, which give readers a firsthand glimpse at what they may face down the road, all from a survivor s point of view. My mother is getting a biopsy on her breast(s) on Monday to see if she’s got breast cancer and this is the first year they’ve detected anything on the mammogram. Anyway, if she does have breast cancer will she survive it?
Of course, I did. Granted I had a bi-lateral mastectomy but I don’t care. I have life and to me that’s more important than having breast. Besides, I’m to old to have kids and my husband said he can always fondle my shoulder blades. (he has a one track mind )
ADD Sunflower, just for the record, mine was malignant invasive ductal carcinoma, which means it already went into the tissue and it was fast growing. I had a mammogram, MRI, biopsy and mastectomy within a week. It is possible and I did catch it as soon as I felt the lump in my breast. I wasted no time in getting in touch with my Dr,. So no matter what kind of cells, it can be caught and gone in no time. Thumbs up for you though because that’s a good point and may make women take notice sooner if they feel a lump.
