The Yellow Balloons Continuation, 2007 Breast Cancer Race
Last year I videotaped the Las Vegas leg of the Race for the Cure and afterward edited several pieces for their website. One of the videos I made focused on a group of walkers headed up by Lisa Blythe. It was aptly named The Yellow Balloons. Lisa’s mother had breast cancer and Lisa organized a group of friends and family to walk in her behalf. At the end of the Race they released yellow balloons with cancer survivors’ and victims’ names written on them. I spent some time with Lisa. She was a very charming woman.
I returned this year hoping to see Lisa again and that there would be good news about her mother. Unfortunately, there was surprising and sad news. I made this video for the family. For more tributes please visit www.roxievideo.com

if you are serious, …
if you are serious, the GET ANGRY! DEMAND A CURE.
OR FIND A CURE YOURSELF.
ribbons, pink, awareness, silly hats and outfits and laughter do NOTHING to cure cancer.
I believe these …
I believe these events and races raise millions of dollars for research for a cure, and to help women in need. That’s bad? Can’t see anything wrong with people getting together for a common good, raising money, and enjoying themselves for a few hours.
I am a breast cancer survivor and now have lymphoma, but I still want to enjoy life from time to time, even though I am serious about contributing to finding a cure.
He’s got a point …
He’s got a point for those that can THINK…
ribbons, races, pink, pink lights, pink drinks, wacky pink hats, boob hats, pink necklaces…
cancer sure is scared of pink!
try DEMANDING a CURE, rather than celebrating by wearing PINK and laughing like children at a deadly disease.
GROW UP AND GET SERIOUS.
may you find some …
may you find some joy in your life.
Let me guess the …
Let me guess the Breast Cancer is still the undisputed champion killer!!! Can’t fight what you can’t stop. Face it you deserve to die if you have breast cancer, whom else is personally responsible for those who die from cancer? People keep racing walking running for a cure and yet they lose every time. Balloons don’t cure cancer, a race can’t cure cancer, awareness can’t cure cancer. Yet I see these ribbons all the time, I guess the ribbons for cures exchange program failed.
